Steven Bylina brings real world market experience and an entrepreneurial spirit to his practice at Ziliak Law. A proven self-starter, Steve worked as a brokers’ assistant for a prominent grain floor brokerage operation while attending The John Marshall Law School. While working as a trader on the floor of the CBOT, Steve developed a successful practice representing exchange members and traders in a number of matters before the CBOT Arbitration Committee.
Throughout Steve’s work as both a trader and an attorney, his love for the markets and trading has been evident. He soon became a partner for Commodities Company, Inc. as a floor broker on the Chicago Board of Trade’s grain floor. In that capacity, he facilitated business for some of the largest grain traders in the world, predominantly in the Soybean Meal pit where he served as Chairman of the Pit Committee.
Steve not only serves clients as an advocate before Arbitration panels, he has also served as an arbitration judge for FINRA, NFA and Cook County. Steve is also a Member of the CME Group’s Arbitration Committee and the CME Membership Committee.
His approach to the markets and the law as a business have a strong foundation in his undergraduate pursuits at Illinois College where he graduated with a major in Business Administration and a minor in Finance.
