Patrick’s practice focuses on providing legal counsel for small businesses at all stages of their development: from formation, through development, and into sales and succession planning.
Patrick advises clients on general business governance and compliance matters as well as drafting and negotiating contracts, licenses, employment agreements, and commercial leases. He has also represented clients at administrative hearings and in commercial litigation. In addition to his business practice, Patrick handles commercial and residential real estate matters.
Patrick earned his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law where he was a Notes and Comments Editor for the Chicago-Kent Law Review. He graduated with honors, earning CALI Awards for the highest grades in several classes, including Legal Writing and Civil Procedure.
Prior to working with the Ziliak Law team, Patrick was judicial extern for Sidney Schenkier, United States Magistrate Judge for the Northern District of Illinois. Patrick also taught college in the English and Humanities programs at the University of Florida, Illinois Institute of Art, and the University of Chicago Graham School of Continuing Liberal and Professional Studies.
In his free time, Patrick volunteers with Chicago Volunteer Legal Services to provide free legal services to low-income clients. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association.
